Captivating mass audiences through projection mapping

What if you could make the entire physical world your canvas? A fountain, a flag or even a shoe could potentially display your images and messaging in a seamless, vibrant way.

Panasonic’s projection mapping makes it all possible by combining cutting-edge projector technology with data-driven artistry. We’ve successfully deployed it with retail partners, communities, museums and, most famously, at major sports events such as the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Creating must-see retail

To attract and convert more shoppers, retailers have turned to Panasonic to create immersive, head-turning displays. Visually engaging digital signage creates awareness as it entertains, allowing customers to interact with brands at a whole new level. One of our latest innovations is flag mapping, where a projection on a banner or flag follows the contours of the fabric, even as it ripples and bends, adding dynamic realism.

High-resolution imaging can transform the entire exterior of a building with branded messages or performances, or be localized to the interior of a store or product display. And with amazing color and details, the execution is nothing short of flawless.

The biggest spectacle in sports

If you were one of the three billion viewers mesmerized by the Rio Games’ opening ceremonies in 2016, you were witnessing 115 of Panasonic’s most innovative projectors working in edge-blending harmony. Closer to home, we’re turning entire sections of stadiums into large-scale displays, transporting fans through mind-blowing 3D experiences.

Transforming water into wonder

Visitors to Las Vegas expect to be wowed, but what we unveiled at the Kabuki Spectacle was from another world. A series of high-definition units projected a choreographed light display on the Bellagio’s spectacular water fountains – spanning more than 1,000 feet across. The combination of live action Kabuki, projection mapping and the raw power of nature created an experience that helped the property stand out even among the city’s larger-than-life features.

Open your mind to a whole new world

Projection mapping is equal parts art performance and technological magic. At Panasonic, we can build end-to-end solutions or work with customers’ strategic partners to create immersive retail, educational and entertaining installations.
